What does success mean to you?

In the second episode of the CCC podcast I spoke about redefining the word career. The truth is, if we are to redefine the word career we must also redefine the word success. 

Is success or being successful the same thing as being rich and having material wealth? 

Or can it be having inner wealth? Inner wealth in terms of purpose, meaningfulness, direction, clarity about who we are, being of service?

Or perhaps both? It all comes down to your own definition. 

All I know is that success is not one-dimensional. 

In Human Design, we say that success is the signature for Projectors so it’s even more crucial for Projectors to define what success means to them. 

For Generators and Manifesting Generators, you need to define success based on what satisfies you. When you feel satisfied in what you do, you will feel successful. 

When Manifestors feel peaceful in their work, they will feel successful. 

When Reflectors experiences delight and are surprised by life they will feel successful. 

Let’s Define Success

Step 1: Take some time to define what success means to you, write it down in a journal. 

Perhaps it’s having financial freedom (you can break this down even further), or having a specific monthly income that you feel is the right number for you. 

Perhaps success means having the freedom to create your own work schedule by having your own business? Or work part time?

Step 2: When have you felt successful and why? See what comes up here, if it’s related to money or something else. 

Don’t get me wrong, I want everyone to make a living off of what they do. But I want to encourage you to stop looking at success from a monetary point of view, because then there will always be a new ‘goal’, a new number to reach. We actually need a lot less than we think. Most of the time, people tend to want money simply to buy shiny objects to show off for others. 

With money comes status in the society we live in. I wish status would come with service, that we are rewarded with status through the way we support each other. What do you wish for?
